Default Difference in '88 and '89+ knuckles?

I notice that the part numbers of '88 front suspension knuckles for the CRX & Civic are different for the same parts for the '89 and later cars. What's the difference, and can you use tha later knuckles/hubs on the '88 without having to swap other stuff?

I wouldn't know of any differnce in the knuckles for either year, they look the same to me. That's odd...
