Where Does the Rev Limiter Hit on Your DX???
I have 2 DX (PM5) ECUs. As far as I know they are both stock and I can't find any evidence that they've been altered.
Nevertheless, one hits the rev limiter at 6400 and the other goes to 6800.
So what is going on?
Where does your limiter hit?
Thanks

At least this proves that there are two different limiters out there in PM5 ECUs.
Any ideas? Sedan vs. Hatch vs. CRX maybe?
Or maybe it was a model year thing?
Converted... What year was yours and was it a hatch or CRX?

zdyne told me the stock rev limiters changes as the tempature changes. even if the temp gauge is all the way warmed up, it might still be hitting a "cold" limiter. my pm5 would hit 6800 fully warmed up and something a little bit lower when it had just warmed up.

I know the Si's are like this. They do indeed have a cold and hot revlimiter.

This thread has succeeded in confusing me even more.
Apparently some of the ECUs rev to 6400 and some to 6800. This would support what we discovered in dyno testing as well.
Now, if we could just figure out how to identify which ones rev to 64 and which ones rev to 68, we'd be golden.
From what I've learned, "LowBuckEF" probably has a PM9, which appears to be a 1991 only item (maybe some late 90 models). I'm not sure what or if there are any differences between it and the PM5 though.
Actually I've learned alot from this thread so far. Mainly that this isn't going to be as easy as I'd hoped.

90 crx dx 6800 when i had the stock ecu. Now it's 7200 with an SI. which by the way i'll be selling in about 2 weeks after i do my B swap, so if someone wants all the parts for an mpfi conv lemme know.
