Default 16" Wheels for UKDM ITR

Been looking around for some 16" Wheels for my White UK ITR. I want Lightweight ones but cant quite stretch to Mugen/Volk prices!

I was considering these wheels OZ Superleggeras 16 x 7 which weigh about 14lb, these are quite common and I dont know if they'd suit the ITR.

The Speedline Comp2 2108 look good but I dont know how much these weigh but they look similar to the TE37 which look really good on the car. But i dont think they make the offset in 5 x 114 PCD.

Finally i found these Rimstock (aka Team Dynamics or 100+) Pro Race2, they must make pretty good wheels as they are making the new wheels for the the new Lotus Exige S2, which will be exported to the USA for the first time.

They are light as you can see in the image

But because they are so new i cant find any pics of them on cars, so i was just wondering whatcha reckon??

They look good, the weight is good and the offset (48 mm) is good too.....

So ya reckon go for 16 x 7 with an offset of 48?

Cheers, just gotta decide what colour.

White looks bit like OEM,
Black you lose the impact of the wheel size,
Bronze a good compro without having to clean it that compulsively.

Also saw on 1010tires.com that the only list the OZ's in 17 x 7 with 5 x 114 PCD, so that looks like it's forcing my hand to the PRo-Race 2's. Shame it's pretty difficult to get Falken Azenis over in the UK, so it'll be either SO2's or F1 GSD3's.

I like the OZ one, and it does look similar to the OEM JDM wheels.

If you want 16inch I would go for the Rimstock with the offset of your liking it doesn´t necessarly mean you have to choose either 23 or 48. You can order in any offset in between.
It is the best relation price/performance. Although, personaly, I don´t like the design much.
Regarding the OZ they don´t make them neither in 15 nor 16inch. But if you decid eventually to go for 17inch I think that would be your best choice in Europe.
The Speedline are to heavy between 8 and 9Kg almost double the oem wheels.

I just dont really like em, they dont mention weight which is important when adding bigger wheels.

I dont really want to go up to 17" as I reckon the ride would suffer as it is lowered on Eibach Springs. But it looks like my mind is being made up for me by the fact that no-one else makes them in the right PCD or offset.

Regarding the offset what do you reccomend, I knew that it meant 23-48mm is available, Is the std 38mm? So with wider rims you want to have a slight increase in offset, putting the rim slightly further out. i.e. widening the overall track??

JDM 16"x7" wheels come with +45mm offset, if I recall correctly.

If you get 16x7" wheels, try to stay between 38-45mm offset. Remember though, that some 45mm offset wheels might have a problem clearing stock calipers due to spoke designs.

If you guys can get Rotas, then you can get some rotas that are light and look like the Mugen/Volk rims

Been looking around the UK for people who sell Rota's, cannot find anyone at all. Shame as they are good looking wheels, esp the Slipstream or Grid's

So it looks like I'll be having a closer look ath the Pro-Race 2's.

So what offset do you lot reccomend for 7 x 16? If there is a bit of trouble clearing stock calipers with 48mm what about 45mm??

Thanks for all your input

Anthony

50 mm is stock offset (JDM 16" also). 45 mm is a safe choice....

I like all those wheels, but have you looked at Compomotive wheels?

The MO is the only "motorsport" wheel they make in a 16x7

I did not see the weights listed on the UK site, but they are listed on the US site http://www.usacomp.com

Just looked at the US Compomotive site & the wheels are 8.9Kgs which is prob a bit heavy.

At least they are cheap in the UK!
http://www.rallynuts.com/motor...d=940
That was without really looking, it's only coz they are a British Co.

So a 45mm offset will slightly widen the track a little and bring the wheels outwards a little making them more inline with the wheelarches.

Just gotta wait to be paid! Employers are going bust but already resigned, just waiting for wages & holiday pay owed to me!
