Stock tire pressure
Seriously, the engineers at honda spent a TON of time tuning our car. The recommend pressure is the best for a stock setup. For auto-x, I bump the front up a little to lessen rollover on the front tires, but thats not great for the street.

Yep, whatever the manual reccomends, (I forgot, it's been awhile and I'm old.)

If anything, you can raise the fronts a bit like Jond said to combat sidewall roll but, raising the rears might induce more oversteer, and if you don't know how to handle it, that might be a bad idea (especially on the street.)

The stock tires are Great IMHO.

Even with stock pressures and tires, on stock suspension you will wear the outside edges of the tires, and especialy with "Spirited Driving" which means different things to different people. The wear has to do with the R's lack of negative camber and pushing it through corners.

The outside edges of All my tires wear a bit sooner. Funny enough though, autocross seems to wear them unevenly a bit sooner than tracking.

Who recommends it, the tire comp. who made the tire or honda who bought the tire to sell to you the consumer

Just as the NSX was tuned and tested with the Re010's in mind they were also a part of the tuning when the ITR was being developed.

I'd expect that Bridgestone and Honda collaborated quite a bit on advertised tire pressures. It is also important to take into consideration that the pressures listed in the manuals are usually for a balance of optimal life, performance and efficiency for their respective vehicles, performance was a bit more important on the R than on other production cars.

Not all tires and cars were under the microscope as much as the R and NSX. And of course there are different settings for different applications and different circumstances. That's just life, variables.

I'd expect there is a broad zone of pressures that many tires can be effective with or not. And not to be redundant, I'd also expect that the R's tires pressures had a bit more attention paid to than other cars.

Just as many owners will report different pressures were better or worse for them.

I personally remember raising the fronts by 3 to 5 lbs and liking the results. I went through 3 sets before I went to anything aftermarket. Their wear characteristics were shorter regardless of pressures for me at least, but they performed admirably in all circumstances EXCEPT for rain when they were bald, (but, what tire really does well like this.)

So I don't think anyone has a true answer to your question, I'd just guess that Honda made the ultimate decision about pressures based on what I noted above with their testing and tuning.

I read somewhere that the 195/55/15 RE010's are developed specifically for the Integra Type-R. Just as the bigger size is made specifically for the NSX, and the new RE090's are made specifically for the Enzo Ferrari.

Yup. 35 psi front, 33 psi rear, measured cold.

I've used these pressures on the street as well as the track, and they work just fine. Nice even tire wear (sure, the very edges wear a bit more on the track, but otherwise quite even).

Don't forget to adjust for temperature. The Tire Rack says pressure rises about 1 psi with each 10 degree temperature rise. So, if you normally drive your car during the daytime when it's 70 degrees out, and you are measuring the tires when you start out in the morning and the car has been sitting overnight and it's only 50 degrees out, you might want to put in 2 psi LESS per tire than you want, since it will reach your desired cold pressure as the day warms up.

So, you weren't the guy at Watkin's Glen last week with the black NSX and Ohio plate that read NSXtasy?

Wonder how much it will cost for him to right his damage.
