help with a mini me swap for a cheap ass like me
ok i have a 90 dx hatch im swaping in a z6 head im new to hondas im just trying to make my beater a little peppier and I wanna get this head on in the next 2 days while im still on vacation and have time so anyways I have a few questions.....
1.for now I would like to retain the dpfi system until I have time to do the mpfi swap will this sytem provide enough fuel in vtec mode? if not would increased fuel pressure be ok for now?
2.will I be able to reuse the d15 distributor with little or no mods on the z6?
3.would I be able to use the cam gear from the d15 on the z6 and reuse the timing belt? (only cause I just changed it and its a biatch)
4.does anyone know the base fuel pressure is on a dpfi system?
any help is appreciated thanks

1) No. DPFI sucks - period. Convert to MPFI ASAP.
2) No. Doesn't matter if you're converting to OBD-O or OBD-I. If you're oing OBD-O, you need the 88-91 Si/Hf distributor - which you will need to modify for the Z6 head [wouldn't have to if you had a Y8 head]. If you're going OBD-I, then the 92-00 distributor will work (YES the 96+ distributor will work with OBD-I).
3) Pretty sure that you need the Z6 cam gear and timing belt.
4) What do you mean by base fuel pressure? Take my advice - don't screw around with DPFI - IT SUCKS *****.
