Integrated phones?
Well, if you are refering to the kind you used to find in old skool benzs and lincolns and such, they no longer exist. They may exist, but are no longer in service. Those phones operated in an anolog only system, that nobody offers anymore.
What you can do is go to a good stereo shop, and they have a "hands-free kit" for alot of the popular phones. They mount a mic on top of the A-pillar or something, a speaker under the dash, and a holster / power supply. You place your phone in the craddle, and plug it in, and it operates as a hands free system. Its very nice, and works well, but will run you $300+ installed.

This used to be an option on the early G3 Integras. It was a hands-free phone that fit in the space below the stereo, where there's currently a pocket, and it cost a bundle. Of course, like all phones way back then, it was just crappy analog. I don't know why you'd want such a thing now; cell companies are practically giving away digital phones now, and those don't force you to stay in your car. Personally, I have one cellphone (Verizon) and that's it; no car phone, no landline house phone, etc. $45/month takes care of all my voice communication needs, including a lot of long distance calling.
these "integrated phones" do still exist...ever heard of OnStar???...
my parents have onstar in their car and you can use it as a personal cell phone...my mother uses it as her only cellphone in fact, its pretty expensive per minute i think but whatever...all you do is say dial and then the number, then the radio cuts out and you carry on your conversation...and it is surprisingly clear as well..
and the idea that nobody uses them isnt quite true either, many of my friends whose parents have onstar also use its cellphone feature

for real though, you gain nothing w/ an "integrated phone" that you don't get w/ your basic motorola flip used w/ a decent hands-free kit. Seems like installing something like that would just attract more theives
, i dunno.
, i dunno.
dude I love tegs as much as the next guy but classic? I doubt our cars will ever be classics
. I just don't want it to end up like the old Datsuns you see that are all tricked out and driven by some white trash ****

Yup, I got Onstar on my 2002 Z71 Suburban, costly though safe and sound package is $320 per year not including minutes purchased through packages. Does work out good though press Onstar button and there is a voice recognition system (ladies voice) dials what you speak, get news, stock quotes, weather, local traffic, entertainment, and daily horoscope, also used unlock feature once. Really trick if you lock your keys in truck call onstar they'll unlock it in minutes. I've seen those sysyems in some Acuras but did'nt know how they worked exactly.

I think Acura is getting into the OnStar game in a year or two.
I have an older StarTac that I carry, my car has an installed handsfree system that I wired through the audio system. Sounds sweet :-) The antenna is a little disc that is mounted inside just above the rear view mirror.
