For the past 1-2 months, I've noticed that my engine is idling pretty badly and will crack sometimes when I decelerate. Also every once in awhile the "check engine" light will come on and the engine will go up to idle at 1500 rpms. If the light is not on and it's actin wierd then it will sometimes go to idle at 500 rpms when it's supposed to be around 700-800rpms. I use premium gas if that's a problem. I really was wondering if anybody had some insight into the problem here and could help me out. Thanks a lot.

 

maybe an 02 sensor??

yes i would check the o2 sensor as well, also check for vacume leaks.maybe maf sensor of tps as well. o2 mis the most likely culprit though.

 

check the code whenever the CEL comes on.......how many miles on the car? may be time to replace it anyway....

 

how do I check the CEL code? and if i get the code, then how do i know what it means?
