im plannin to get a new tranny soon becuz myne is makin noises and also i want a better tranny...i have a 89 dx hatch and stock dx motor i want to put a si tranny in it....but i was told right be4 i started to look i should get a sohc zc tranny cuz it pulls more...now my question is to all yall is...what is your opionoin on this and what should be the best bang for the buck..i can get a zc tranny from this place in hayward for probably like 300-350 mayB cheaper so would would all you guys personal prefernce be on this? and also how can u tell a si from a dx tranny and a zc from a si?

 

honestly i have heard that the best way to go is to hybrid a ZC and an SI tranny, you take the 5th gear out of the si and use it in the ZC. Aparently it pulls harder, but i would do some research. good luck

yea there is the dohc axle's are bigger and the sohc axle are smaller so thats one thing and also the splines are more on one than the other
