my ls/vtec set up opinions please
In the process of building up my motor. Car is a 93 CX hatchback. aproximately 2200lbs with me in it. have a couple of questions and imput would be great.
Block:
B18a1
82mm 11.5:1 Wiseco pistons
Scat Hbeam rods and ARP rod bolts
Balanced LS crank
ARP main studs and bolts
ARP head studs and bolts
Head:
GSR head
Manley stainless steel valves .5mm over
mild port and polish
Manley vavle springs and retainers
Crower stage 2 cams
Skunk2 intake ported and polished
Type R 62mm TB(probably upgrade to 65mm)
Prelude injectors
p72 ecu chipped or hondata
DC JDM 4-1 header(DTR street header if i can afford it)
Trans:
S80 LS hydro
JDM 4.785 final drive
JDM helical LSD
heres my questions
1. with arp main bolts will i be safe to 9K. I may add a Z10 cap girdle down the road but its more money then i was planning on spending.
2.wuts my CR? i'm thinking about 12-12.5:1 I know the vavles will sit inside the combustion chamber more yeilding a higher CR. Also to my knowledge a higher CR requires less ignition advace, looking to run around 12 degrees advance and streetable on premium pump gas.
3. Will the 4.785 final make 1st gear unusable? I know the final will make the LS tranny somewhat decent with short gears and somewhat spread apart but i dunno about 1st gear. I think a B16 hydro would still have closer and shorter gears but still a little to short for me and high way cruising.
4. What kinda 60ft times do u get with LSD and street tires? 1.9-1.8? I'll probably be running 205/50/15 azenis and i'm looking to run high 12 low 13 times.
5. and the grand old question. HOW MUCH HP? i'm thinking 200-210 whp. I think with the DTR header it could be a lot higher. Any imput is greatly appreciated.
