intake(pipe to the air compressor) or not, just remember to run a filter, open element dont restrict much flow(HKS SuperMegaFlow Filter 200)
try not to run mesh filter and call it a day, it doesnt filter out much, and i have experience with slow spooling with the mesh, turblence maybe?

i dont think you can fit a intake in if the battery's still in the stock mounting point

I don't think he was talking about the intake filter. Im assuming that you are referring to the secondary valves that are in the intake manifold. If so, I don't think that it will effect how the turbo spools. If anything, you would just unhook the vacume line to the actuator on the intake manifold and the butterfly valve will stay open.

will they stay open? i figured that if i detached the line they would close. when i get it done ill have to run it both ways to see if it makes a difference i was just a little afraid the boost would force them close or something and screw something up in there

Well in that respect, I would doubt that those valves could be forced shut or vise-versa and I dont see any reason why anything would get hurt. So in other words, have no worries.
