Default h22 vs. h23

I just purchased a JDM h23a motor for my 95 Prelude SiR. Im now thinking of selling it and ordering a h22a. Any opinion as to which would be the better choice. Obviously the v-tec would have more power stock, but can i do more to the 2.3L h23? Also is there anyway to get the h22 v-tec top half on my h23 motor? Impossible or difficult?

you can turbo your H23 and make lots of power.

you can also do the H23 VTEC headswap. some people here have done it. search for it and you'll prob find some satisfaction.

yeah u can make alot of power w/ the h23 w/ a turbo. there a member here that is puttin out a whoppin 430whp. but it depends on you on which route you want to take. i feel that a v-tec is better and there is more aftermarket support for that engine.

you can make just as much power with the h22, it's your decision, but without a turbo application or nitrous your better bet will be the h22a, i'd go with the h22a regardless

There is no JDM H23a motor....only the H23A VTEC from the Accord Wagon SiR...you have like an Australian motor or something.

And what's a Prelude SiR? There is no USDM Prelude SiR...

It's not that good of an idea to do the H23 vtec if you're going turbo. It's not too reliable, and it's a bitch to tune.

sure there is all you have to do is buy that sticker off of ebay and it instantly turns your lude into a type R. Also as a added benefit it gives you a free 30 whp per square inch of sticker. you know what they say the bigger the better. I personally have the 70in sticker across my hood which is good for 450 hp.

both are good motors, you make good power if you boost an h23. and h22, you can boost or stick with all motor, and still make pretty good power.

There in fact is a JDM H23 motor. The Prelude SiR was made in Canada for 2 years. Only 3,000 were produced and they generaly had about 20 more hp than the US Si.

ACTUALLY: The Prelude SiR was made in Canada for 2 years only. Only 3,000 were produced and they came with about 20 more hp stock than the US Si. Also my stock cloth interior looks nothing like any US Preludes. Its devoid of the SiR badging because they've never made SiR badging stock. You're right that you have to buy the sticker off eBay, but I didn't.
