Default I need some advice

Hello all,
I just finished my auto to manual conversion.
The car is a 99 LS.
From a mechanical standpoint everything is fine.
How ever when I try to start it, I am only hearing one click.
I am assuming I need a new starter.
My other dilema is when I leave the key in the "on" position
It starts pumping fuel and eventually overflows thru the throttle body.
Can anybody give me any advice.
I wired the clutch wires the blue/black wire to the black/white wire and the pink to the pink wire into the old wiring from the auto.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There shouldn't be any gas going thru the vacuum hose. But besides that - why does the fuel pump keep running beyond about 2 seconds if the engine isn't running?
