Default Grand-Am Cup/American Iron @ VIR

Is anyone planning on attending and cheering on our American Iron friends?

I would like to go down to watch and help out but would need a ride down.

I'll be there but I'm not sure where I'm leaving from (Nova/or Harrisonburg).

The event is Oct 3-4-5

I will be DOWN there on Saturday working grid for American Iron. That's all I have to work and after I will have beer in both hands yelling.

If you guys go, come up to grid or IM me.

I'm in... Thurs afternoon - Sun night, driving not only DOWN but also ACROSS, working grid a little and drinking Furball under the table as necessary.

BTW, the coupon for 3 days + camping ($20 instead of $60) is here:

I CAN'T WAIT,

Come on Mike, you need to be there for this one. I think I could spare an extra cooler or so of beers. God knows I got enough. Its the only thing that survived the power outages.

Zach, the general consensus in my head says "I'll be there Saturday morning." As long as a hurricane doesn't blow through here on Friday night, that should be the case. And speaking of cases, I'll try to bring at least one. I'm definitely good on coolers. Thanks for the offer. I'm going to try to get up around 3am Saturday to get there at the start of the day.

How is camping in ~50 degree weather? Does the standard type of sleeping bag do it, or should I pick up something a little warmer?

Mike-who'll *probably* be so inebriated on Saturday night that it *probably* won't matter.

I got a stupid question(s).

I have an invitation to stay with some peeps that will be there before I arrive, that being the case-Will I need to pay for a campsite? or just find them sat eve and stay like that.

Ill be getting there around 7 pm sat will there be anyone at the front gate to let me in???? Im just worried that Id drive 2.5 hrs and have no where to go.

I dl'ed that coupon that Jon posted, just not sure how this is going to work

Why do I always wait till the last second with this stuff..

The way I understood it from Cobetto - and based on similar deals in the past - that coupon pays for your entry / camping / parking all weekend. You'll be able to get in anytime (the gate should be open 24hrs, it is one of their biggest weekends of the year after all.) The only thing it WON'T let you do is get your car into the paddock, which is only a problem if you're staying with competitors or workers (in the paddock) and you're bringing so much crap that you can't haul it down from the skidpad parking lot (or use your friends' cars with paddock passes to go get your crap and bring it into the paddock.)

Hope that helps,

Jon

They're rated to a certain temp. I think 50deg is the standard, even for cheapie Wal-Mart units like mine

Jon
leaving in 11.5 hours, woo hoo!

i think the cheapest way out is to just use the coupon. it's like 20 for sat. and 50 for sun... something along those lines.
