Default HP gettin' me in trouble, going show

This post has done a complete 180 turn. From a kit to JDM. Thanks for posting pics guys.

I recently aquired a 89 hatch for free, just needs a motor, staying D15B, no matter what. I know the pros and cons on fiberglass vs urethane, so it's down to which to get. Nopi has given such great service I'm buying from them. My local shop quote has higher than Nopi and that suprised me.

So I'm going between Wings West and VIS Racing.....

Wings West
Full kit (6 Piece) $670
Roof Wing $250
Mid Wing $185
$1105

VIS Racing
Strada F1 Front $206
Z3v Fenders $200
Techno R Door Caps $133
Techno R Side Skirts $206
Z1 Boxer Rear $183
GTX Roof Wing $260
$1188

I prefer to stay with one brand. And the only problem I fear is the modification with the Wings West kit, since it's only made for the 90/91.

If your going to go all show, why dont you save the money and do a paint job. Lower it on some sick rims (volk, mugen, or anyother oldschool rims).

My vote.....stock

if you really want a kit get the WW kit.....fitment is perfect and its urethane(sp?)
whatever you do please dont get the vis......i have seen many of their kits and they are horriable quality.....most of the time you have to re-do the whole kit just to get it to fit right

i had the ww kit on a 90 hatch and it was a nice lookng kit i had no regrets having it

get the WW kit, the mugen look alike, thats the only nice kit on the EF, all that other blitz, battle, crap, z3 fender stuff looks corny on that car, be show but still be clean with ur selection IMHO, hits are nice, but when u mix and match pay close attention to detail and if the car blends together.

EKcoupe99 A paint job is a must here, so I thought why not just add the kit. Who would you recommend for a paint job? I won't go to some cheap-*** place. I want quality. I was think of having Honda's Autobody do it. There price with a little bit of body work is around $1100. Sound worth it?

Kwik2nec I love the JDM EF9 front end. I thought about getting one from hmotorsonline, but $550 for a stock front seems to be expensive. But I will admit, the JDM EF9 front is just about the only JDM item I like.

EM1b18cR The fenders I'm just wondering about. I threw them in the picture just to have a whole body package. But I probably wouldn't get them. I've only seen maybe 2 cars that the fenders had a descent fitment on.

The driver side door and rear quarter panel need work. And of course I'd get a paint job. But I'm tired of paying so much for low profile tires and larger rims....never bigger than 16, but still expensive. I really like the Enkei RPM2 and Sparco NS-II Python. Treadware is big to me also. My Kuhmo's have a 340 treadware I think, which is kinda low to me.

I was think of getting 14x5.5 black steelies w/ Yokohama Avid T4's. I've curbed at least one rim in every set of rims I've owned, so with this set up, I wouldn't kick my self in the *** for curbing a steelie. Plus the tires would last a long time. 420 treadware.

And I mentioned VIS cause I never heard "bad" about them. Kits come with mesh installed and pre-drilled holes.

Why's that? I mentioned that I always ruin my rims. Plus, near $100 per tire and $150 per rim.....just thinking about money here. If I were the get any set of rims of USDM or JDM, I'd be 99-00 Si rims or 96 ITR rims. I just don't want to get anything over a 15" rim this time, and it's hard to find a nice set of 15's. That's why I mentioned steelies. The car needs tires anyways, so the steelies are a must for now, plus I don't want to run on the expensive/nice rims all through the winter. One of my buddies had chrome wheels, ya ya chrome, on his Civic and over the winter they got hammered on. The steelies are pretty much a temporary set and side/extra set.

BTW, will 4x114 work, or is it 4x100?

I say dump it on some 15's, with a JDM front bumper, and give it some blingin' paint. Fix up the interior too.

The 96 ITR rims are 4x114. Will that work, or do I have to have 4x100? The Mugen MF10L is alright, but I've never thought about spending $1500 on rims w/o tires.

no 4x114.3 won't work unless you do the itr brake conversion.

The 96 itr wheels wont work. You need 4x100. I also really think that the car would look really unproportional with a kit and small *** steelies.

Just get some nice wheels and paint job like everyone said. Seems like a better idea to me.
