How much do you figure these coilovers are worth?
I am going to purchase 1 of these 2 sets of coilovers.
Both of them need to have 1 of the rears replaced.
Could you guys please let me know how much you think each set is worth?
1st:
Tein Driving Master HA
2nd:
Apex N1 99 Spec
Also if anybody knows which company is easier to purchase a single rear shock from would be great.
Both come with all 4, but 1 of the rears is damaged in each of them.
Both came out of 99 or 00 Civic SiR

do you know the name of the shop that can repair the Apex one?
That is the one I am most interested too.

Id go with the apex just becuase teins are like the ultra *bling of the tuner world...just something for you to say "Yeah, I got teins on my ride"
Granted, both are good, however, apex just seems to be the un-sung hero of suspension parts to me.

I would go for the Apex'i but not because I don't like Tain, or that I think they are bling, but because the Apex'i in the picture you posted are all aluminum. Weight saving is very important to me

I don't think I can get the Apex unless somebody helps me find somebody to rebuild the damaged one.
I phoned the local apex distributor and they said the 99spec ones are discontinued and that they don't sell individiuals anymore of that spec.

you need to send them to APEXi to be rebuilt. get their # from the site and give them a call. it costs $300 to rebuild the set and it takes about two weeks(including shipping).
i have 99 spec APEXi N1s on my hatch and i'm very happy w/ them. i've never owned teins, so i can't compare the two.

does a rebuild include replacing a bent shaft though?
I guess I'll just call them tomorrow.
but when I look at the site, all I see are distributors numbers.

I have Tein SS's on my car, and from the moment I put them on till now I have had nothing but good times with the, the quility of the product is well above what I thought I was going to get, the ajustable settings are fantastic...
definetely n1
they have an adjustable suspension stroke,
so you can lower you car while still retaining your suspension travel.. and aslo adjust preload.
VERY NICE FEATURE, in fact a required feature in my mind,
i'll never purchase any shock that cant be adjusted or at least has a very short shock body(so it doesnt even need adjusting)

Actualy the only reason I wanted them was to put a MASSIVE Apexi sticker across the driver side of my car with flames and a LED border.
