Acura hasn't officially announced anything yet. We can only assume from the media and rumors. But keep your hopes up and keep praying to the JDM gods.

I want that car so freaking bad!

Acura thinks that us Americans cannot afford or handle the added goodies. I bet Acura will make a fit about insurance cost by adding "Racing' seats.

"Brembo brakes...nah. Those Americans can't handle Brembo Brakes. HIDs...nah...It's not fitting to it's racer image. Ooooh...I got it...let's rename the car to a Type SR...that sounds cool. Besides those Americans can't seem to tell the difference. Let's sell them a half equpped car for the same price as what we charge for a fully equipped car in Japan." - Acura

You know, sometimes I wonder if Acura requires that their employees at least have a GED. Those stupid falks messed everything up for us...Screw them. I just wish the Honda president just flies over to the US and b i t c h slaps the Acura president. What are they thinking?

How come some have the rear windshield wiper and some don't?

Personally I would prefer if the RSX-R had no rear windshield wiper. And is that a navigation system on the dash? So that means no radio? I wouldn't mind having no radio either. Damn...Honda...hurry up and bring this baby here, I will buy one from you!!!

Yyz, why do you continue to torment us with those pics. You know damn well that we will never have that in our version. C'mon, they don't even offer it on the Type S. (That's to my knowledge)

Fuggin Acura...AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just import one and you can convert it over to a left hand driver seat hehe. Well just cut the dash in half and swap the sides, they'll do temporarily.

Hee hee,

I know what you mean! It is freaking torture! I want one so freaking bad. And I want ALL the goodies that the JDM version has.
I hope Honda realizes that we will still buy the car with all the amenities included in the JDM version. There is no need to "Americanize" the car. Shoot people still bought the ‘97 ITR and it had no air conditioning! I do understand that there might be an emission problem or something like that, but there is no law against 17" wheels, nice large brembo brakes, navigation system and an 8000+ redline! I want that freaking car!!!

Switch the car to left hand drive, which is what would happen anyway, and the car would be great.

I don't think the problem is in Honda's hand. Although they might have a significant influence over what is being sold in America, it's still up to Acura to make the final decisions. The executives at Acura must hibernate in their closets and come out only when it's time for a redesign or something. You'd have to be blind to miss the import scene and the aftermarket arena. Honda knows what is going on in America.

Bill Elliot needs to open his eyes. (Hope that's his name. )

we need to start a petition and when all 50,000 people sign it we will prob see the type-r in our shores (I just wish it was that simple) but there has got to be a way to show them that we all want the car I am telling you I am shure someone would but this car over a 3series. not everyone cause Acura does not say im rich like bmw acura is not a status symbol like toyota made lexus to be and I think thats why they created the more luxury orented status symbol.
(sorry bout the spelling errors im tired)

ta answer the wiper question. It's part of package deal some have it but it doesn't come std. As the side SRS bags do not as wait jus a cotton pickin minute son but for 50,000 yen extra thar stored in the side panals of the door. Also thar is a sunroof option as wait jus a cotton pickin minute son for fully loaded ITR's in Japan. With tags, taxes and totally maxed ITR without the Mugen upgrade y'all can have yours for around 30-31 *usd* grand in Japan.
If y'all want the Mugen upgrade y'all will spend another 10 grand..so y'all can figure around 43-45 grand totals.

Umm this herya ebonic or whatever script runnin' on hear needs ta stop.

I don't see what the fuss is about, myself.

It's still FWD.

You see, the RSX-S is already pretty close to the WRX in price. By the time the U.S. market gets an RSX-R the Scoobie dealers will have tired of screwing WRX buyers with markups, so you will most likely be able to buy a WRX for less than an RSX-R.

And I see absolutely no advantages, performance or otherwise, to buying an RSX over a WRX. In fact, the WRX has the edge in my book with it's perfectly balanced boxer four (turbocharged too, hehe) and AWD. It's not like the RSX has something cool to counter that, like say, double wishbone front suspension.

I hope the RSX-R doesn't come to the states. It would only tarnish the reputation of the "Type-R" name.

It may be FWD, but it's one of the best FWD performance car in the world and does not have the usually FWD traits (ie torque steer or understeer)!?

If Australia or the USA got the 'real' JDM Type R (the 162kW, with the Brembo brakes and better suspension), it would sh*t all over the WRX....which is far from perfectly balanced and understeers something shocking (like a lot of 4WD).

Various reviews in Australia (which has had WRX since 1993) have shown that the out-going ITR is a better handling car (in both the dry & wet) and is a 'real' driver's car. Also, given the WRX is a 2 Lt turbo....it does pretty terrible (unless modified) @ beating a 1.8 Lt (now 2 Lt) normally-aspirated engine car.

Looks wise, I have two words against the WRX - F*cking ugly - (it looks like a Hyundai with an air scoop and a big wing)!!

Lastly, how the hell to you justify the following statement - "I hope the RSX-R doesn't come to the states. It would only tarnish the reputation of the "Type-R" name."....???????

Two words: MacPherson struts.

I never said the WRX was perfectly balanced. I said its engine is perfectly balanced. Horizontally opposed engines are always perfectly balanced internally, much like an inline six or V12.

I highly doubt the RSX-R ***** all over the WRX. If you're talking about a real ITR (3rd gen Integra Type-R) I'd rather have that than the Scoobie any day, but the new car's front supension means that the Integra has lost the main thing that made it special. That pisses me off.

Oh, and as far as styling goes, that's purely subjective.

I think the RSX looks like the bastard child of an MDX and a Civic coupe. Not sporting at all.

Two words: MacPherson struts.
One word, 3 numbers, and one model distinction.... Porsche 911 GT2 . The GT2 utilizes MacPherson struts and seems to handle just fine... 1.02g

I don’t consider the ITR to be anywhere near the Porsche, and it helps that the Porsche is rear wheel drive, but it is possible for an automaker to produce a car that handles great with MacPherson struts.

I doubt that Honda is going to introduce the new ITR and be like " here it is...and it sucks!" They are only going to improve the car, not make it perform less than the old ITR.

That is a totally invalid comparison.

Do you expect a car like the GT2 to handle poorly? It's not even close to being in the same league as the cars I'm talking about. Hell, the WRX I'd rather buy has MacPerson struts too, but it's got AWD and a turbocharged powerplant to make up for it in my book, while the RSX is just a FWD econobox, a Civic with more power.
