Sparco Seat Question
I recently installed a Sparco Speed in my g3 Integra and have a couple comments/questions.
I'm not the biggest guy inthe world, so the seat still give me a little play, does sparco make any inserts to really make the seat hold you in?
I bought the seat with sparco slidable rails, the rails give a little play also, is that normal?
Also, I have yet to install the harness, but for a street car, would you suggest a 4 point or 3 point harness? and where would you mount the lower lap belt anchors?
BTW, the seat is very nicely constructed, but the rails look like somebody spent 5 mins making them, fitment was very shitty.

i would do a 4 point...personally...
as far as your seat goes, they do make inserts you can buy...that just stick in place
my seat rails/slider have no play in them at all...i would take the extra time to double check all the nic nacs just in case...
better safe than sorry....
...if your in the market for different rails, check out werksII...they make their own custom rails that sit a bit lower than the sparco...i love em..and excellent quality

yeah hes right because seatbelts are bolted to the frame of your car and the roll bar would be bolted to the car and it would also be easier to bolt the seatbelts on if you have a rollbar
I know i have seen harness installs w/o a roll cage.
Would you have to drill into the body, or could you use any stock holes? I have everyting past the front seats stripped, so it would be easy for me to do any work back there.

I don't know if you haven't researched this topic or not but from the looks of it you haven't. Of course you can install a harnass with out a roll bar but it is completly unsafe. First off the shoulder strap parts of the harnass are supposed to go pretty much strait back and not angeled downwards toward the rear seats. This is a proven theory and should be followed. I know there are some diagrams floating around some where on this board on the correct angels and what not. Also with a harnass your body is kept in an upright postion with out much slack and room for your body/head to move side to side. In the event of a roll over your pretty much screwed if your wearing a harnass with out a rollcage. Your roof will collapse in and your head/body wont be able to turn which result in pretty much death. The odds of you rolling your car are pretty much slim to none however if you do you may not live to tell the story. Please do this the right way.
I took out my rear seats and used the stock seatbelt bolt holes in the back to bolt in the shoulder harnesses. That's what the diagram from sparco showed. You just do not want to exceed a certain degree of downward angle parallel to the ground or you risk spinal compression in the event of an accident.
