Default So, how badly would Schumacher have beaten everyone if...

...If he had chosen the intermediates rather than the dry tires. I mean, he said they thought about it but decided against it so as not to create chaos!!!

The best part is, the commentators at SpeedChannel said they felt Schumacher had the car setup for rain on Saturday.

So I interpreted that as... The looseness he battled in dry qualifying prevented the kind of understeer the other guys with neutral, dry setups experienced during the race once the rain began to fall.

Once the race was underway, a small tweak here and a small tweak there and viola! Schumacher flat-out drove in the rain whereas the others looked like nervous FF2000 drivers caught in a wicked fantasy nightmare (which is driving an F1 car...fantasy...in the rain...the nightmare)

As such, Schumi simply needs to finish 7th or better and he becomes World Champion for the 6th time. Phenomenal!

Pure genius. He is a machine. I can honestly say I love him (in the idolizing, non-sexual way )

you know you could have picked a better title for your thread since some of us are watching the race right now for the first time.

Sorry!!!!

If it consoles you, just think of how the Tifosi must have felt to see their entire country in the dark... All due to a tree falling on a transmission tower. ONE TOWER.

He qualified poorly due to a strong gust of wind in the first set of turns. At least that's what he said in the press conference.

Actually, he can crash out of the next race, and as long as Kimi doesn't win he still gets the championship. He's got it as close to clinched as you can get, really.

Doesn't he just need 1 point (8th place) to get it? I thought if the points are tied he'd win. Otherwise JPM would still be in the running as well.

He's currently 9 points ahead, so the ONLY way Kimi can take the championship is by winning the next race, and having Michael come in less than 8th. If they tie in points, I'm pretty sure MS will get the championship since he has more wins.

Well yeah...he just needs an 8th place or better finish to win the championship, regardless of where Raikkonen finishes is what I meant.
