HEY! I just noticed something......!!
Hey, After having owned two integras. A 98 GS and a 00 R and after having
come on honda-tech for like at least 4 years now (used various nicknames)
I finally noticed something....
In the Picture post thread that is going on.. (really great thread btw)
I noticed that a very large percentage of the cars have the door trim painted
the same color as their car.
I am in Canada. If you buy (non R) an integra here they all come with black
door trim and its fugly as hell. So my question is...
Is this an option in the States or do most of your cars come this way?
Or is this something you guys have done after the fact?

I did not paint either of my GSRs and they both had trim painted to match. If there was an option it should've been to leave the trim off. It's ugly even matched.
hello...
anyway.. .yeah.. im pretty sure that anything LS and above got painted side moldings in the states...
and now that i think about it... im sure ive even seen RS' with them too
*shrugs*
whose gsr has painted side moldings!

That is simply not teh accurate info. I've had two GSRs in a row, one '95 & one '96 and both had paint matched moldings. Perhaps as the man said it was LS & up or somethin'. I have a '94 LS 4 door also and I think it has black moldings, not positive though and too lazy/comfy to go check, but my frost white '96 GSR definately has white moldings.

Don't listen to this rookie. 94-01 LS\GS\GSR all come with them painted, it's not even an option.

Well the rookie is definately wrong about the '95 & '96 GSR fitting into his blanket statement, but I'm still pretty sure my '94 LS sedan which is dark grey does have black moldings...which are really ugly and should be removed immediately.

I agree. I don't understand why they would even put black side moldings on one of their cars under the 'luxurious' acura brand name.

i don't mind the black mouldings on my gen2. it goes will with the white paint and black lip and black mudgaurds and black underbody... but, black mouldings on a g3 would look like crap since they don't wrap around the entire car.

They do look like crap...even painted, and they don't do chite. I mean even at stock ride height it looked to me like nearly every other cars' doors would miss the ugly molding and damage the car if whacked...and who has stock ride height? G3s look so much better with them removed and the holes filled and painted. SMOOTH.

The general rule as I understand it is:
All non-ITR's got side mouldings.
But, all RS trim levels did not get body-color side mouldings....they instead had unpainted black ABS plastic side mouldings. I'm pretty sure this didn't change even for the updated 1998-1999 RS coupe trim levels b/c I've seen Taffeta White RS's with black ABS plastic side mouldings.

Sounds about right.
My 97 was paint matched. Now they're gone and filled in like an ITR. BIG difference.

For the same reason that some of them had black mirrors, hubcaps, no cruise control, manual locks, etc.
