Default help with my brakes!

i just picked up a 1989 crx dx for the winter time while im rebuilding my integra's motor.
heres the problem, there is no pedal pressure. it goes straight to the floor. the brakes are new, i bled the system. still that didnt work. then i replaced the master cylinder, bled it again. it still doesnt feel any better.
now im stumped. has anyone had this problem with their EF. can you give me any tips to fix this???

Holy Crap..I have this same problem with my 1990 CRX DX. I just changed my pads and rotors last night and it does the same thing. I am currently trying to figure out what is wrong with mine. Good luck and let me know when you figure it out.

you may have blead your system incorrectly.. there still is air in the system, or you have a booster failure... Make sure all the air is out... bleeding is more of an artform if you know what I mean.

this realy requires a LOT of DOT 3 fluid, and a friend. Put a small rubber hose on that bleeder, and bleed it into a CLEAN container. Refill about every 3 times. bleed in a clockwise rotation around the car too. I ahve found that this helps. Oh yeah. make sure that the person bleeding KNOWS what a good pedal feels like. BLEED away at one corner, until you get no air out. If you didn't get any air the first time you did this, then you had fluid in front of the air. take your time, bepatient, and stay with it.

You said that you replaced the master cylinder did you happen to bench bleed it before you installed it?

youve either got a WHOLE lot of air in the system, or theres a leak somewhere. if you just replaced the MC, then its possible theres air still stuck in there if you didnt bench bleed it before installing it, but a little bit of air shouldnt make the pedal go to the floor with no pressure. the other thing is simply you got a leak, and it should be evident after a few pumps of the pedal and looking around each caliper/wheel cylinder for a leak.

rotieater, if you jsut replaced your pads, then its normal for the pedal to go to the floor, the pistons need to press the new pads to the rotor and take up any slack first, just pump it a few times and it sohuld be normal again if all is good. its jsut a bit unsettling if you forget to prime the system and find out after youve started driving and come to your first required stop.....

If you've dealt with all the hydro(fuilds/mc issues

did you check the rear drum shoes for adjustment

If the rear drums aren't adjusted properly it will give the same feeling of a soft/dead pedal.

When you pull up on your hand brake how many clicks high does it go before the lever stops(without using excessive force)?

Sometimes the simplest things can screw you up.

how many clicks should there be... not to jack the thread but i am kinda having the same trouble.. i replaced the MC and bench bled it and then bled my breaks and still get the soft dead pedal, accual i still kinda have to pump the breaks to stop good.... i noticed a few things, on a dirt road when i hit the breaks the rears lock up befor the fronts, and when i pull the ebreak (back of car on jack stands) the drivers side rear tire only locks up the pass. side rear tire spins freely.
