this just started happing about 2 months ago. when i start my car up for the first time it has no problem, but if I drive for a while and shut it off (ie gas station, atm) for just a few minutes then I try and start it again it will start up and then die immediately afterwards. This is very embarassing and frustrating, i have to wait a min or two to try and crank it, then punch the gas as soon as it starts, after that it is fine.

Could this be a fuel pump problem?? i changed the spark plugs 5k miles ago

OH, i just remebered, once in a blue moon, if I start it up in the morning and pull out of the driveway in bogs and hessitates in 1st gear around 2200-3000 then it never does it again......all of these problems are related to first starting the car, and fuel delivery (i believe)

Check engine light on? I was throwing code 6 Coolant Sensor. That sensor caused my car not too start when it was hot. I replaced my dizzy and main relay. and it was just a $30.00 part.

 

I had that same problem when I had my EG, it turned out to be a relay I beleive.... maybe the main relay or the fuel pump relay..... actually I think they are one in the same on the EG's. Anyway it was a while ago so I'm haveing a hard time remembering, but if that is the problem it's a very easy fix. 20 dollar part, 2 screws and a plug. It's under the dash on the driver side. black box.

 

Hey Man I found my original post on this problem from about 2 years ago. Here is the thread... I was right it was the main relay which contains the fuel pump relay. Hope this helps.

sounds good to me, but did yours do the same "bogging" if you drove off immediately after starting?

 

yeah my moneys on the FPR or the ICM, does your tach ever cut to 0? if so i'd check the ICM otherwise FPR is likely, usually a dry joint and u can just solder the little swine back to where it came from...
