Default My first 1/8 run!

I don't know if this is bad or good, but this is my first time on 1/8 mile. Well..actually it was my first time drag racing ever. I took off at about 1100 rpm, so the R/T is really bad.

R/T 1.1
60' 2.9
330 don't remember
1/8 10.1
MPH 70.1

Oh yea.. I almost forgot about my car and set-up.

Car: 1992 CX civic with 17" rims-Supra 712 tires

My engine is:
B18A LS Block-Stock
B16 Race Head-Port, Polish, and Milled
Civic Type R Cams
AEM Cam Gears
STR Fuel Rail
Custom Intake
97 Integra Type R Intake Manifold
MSD Inigtion
Type R trans. with LSD
ACT Street Clutch
Custom 2.5" Exhaust
JG Throttle Body

The car is untuned, and have a mess-up ECU due to a car flood.

not bad for your first time. Just work on your 60' and launching and you should be mid 9's or so.

Your 60ft is awful, gotta work on that cause it kinda destroyed your run. The 70mph trap speed says high 9's though so that's not too great for your mods. I'd go to the track and try some more and see if you can improve.

Launching at 1100? Try holding your rpms at about 4000rpm, dropping your psi to about 22psi, and slip the clutch when you launch. 2.9 60' is just wrong... That should be somewhere in the 2.2-2.3s range at LEAST.

launch at 5000 and feather the clutch, youll find that you might like slicks or radials better. Id get those. Im sure M&H would have somethin to suit you

Launching at 1100 has absolutely nothing to do with your reaction time. It does, however, have a lot to do with your 2.9 60'. That's just wrong. On the worst tires I've ever owned, my stock 93 Si hatch pulls 2.4's at a full 35psi.

Well, i ran a 9.7 in a civic hatch with d16z6, i/h/e, so just go back and get some practice, your car has alot more potential.

Thanks for the confidence...My R/T was so bad because I was really nervous. I will be practicing more on my launch. Hopefully I can get everything running right by next spring, maybe even a custom turbo by then as well. Thanks again eveyone!

get the car tuned then go racing. You can be doing damage by racing it untuned.
