spun bearing?
hey i was drving around and my oil light came on i dorve abput a mile ahead and all of a sudden my car startedrunning liek **** and witihin 3 sencondes it stalled going about 65 in 5th. then i restarted it and it makes a loud knocking noise. i think its coming form the head but i dont know its late out and im tired. i took off the spark plugs 1 by 1 and the sound waas the same everythime i took each one off. the sound increases/decreases wih the rpm's. it is loud and sounds liek thanks to all who reply
u proally spun one of the journals (bearings) for the cam shaft, sounds like eirther you don't have enough oil or you oil pump took a dump.. you should NEVER! drive when the oil comes on, no matter where u are at, pull over and stop the car do not run it, check ur oil if its good then call a tow truck.. it sucks
im going through this with my zc the thing is if you spin a bearing you need to pull the motor (you need the crank out) send it to get miced and then after the reworking of the crank you will need new bearings and let me tell you there different for each journal i found that out the hard way...to see if you have a spun a bearing just pull the oil pan off....remove the crank cover and check for a spun bearing (spun meaning that one is on top of the other one just in cast there........
