H22 head on H23 block. there is an official thread for doing it. check in the rules thread up top to read all about it. (link is at the bottom of page)

2.3/2.2 = 4.5% larger displacement, so about the same amount in hp at the crank. 190hp +4.5% = 199hp. A lot of work for 8-9hp.

hehe, i wonder if that's from experience?

I'll tell ya in a few weeks!

I'm guessin if the H22 made 200 at the crank, I'd say the H23 VTEC will put out right above that, say 210+, and much more torque.

There were dyno's of H23 VTEC's in the official H23 VTEC thread.....didn't you get the memo on that?

176 tq? I don't think so.

My built H23 VTEC made 204/161 at the wheels

The stock H23A VTEC in the Accord wagon makes 197hp/163tq at the crank same hp as an H22a, slithgtly more torque and both peak numbers are at a lower rpm. It's just a different power band, more torque lower, tops out sooner.

Correct me if i'm wrong Satan, but wasn't your motor not too far from stock-specs?

the h23/h22 decision just goes on what kind of power band you want. IMO the h23 has the better for dailly drivers.

My H23 VTEC? hah not even close it was sleeved running 11.5:1 compression and crower 3 cams. A stock H23 VTEC assuming you put in H22a pistons when you did it won't make much more power and torque than an H22a, just have an earlier power/torque band

why is that? A H23 VTEC is not a high hp motor. The powerband was something else though.
