Idle problem I need help.
I just did a budget swap with parts I had around the house. I put in a D16 from my CRX and an auto tranny together into my automatic DX Civic HB and also swapped over all the DPFI components so that I didn't have to re-wire the DX. Now I have a minor problem I need to correct.
The idle seems to be at about 3000rpm. I had 2 things happen while I was doing the swap. First is that I had to swap over the whole distributor assembly or else I would have needed to re-wire the Si assembly. As a result the timing is off. Second is that the DX throttle cable has a break in one of the plastic sections allowing it to jiggle a bit.
My question is: could my idle problem be a symptom of the cable and timing? If not what else could it be? I don't have the air filter on as I am replacing it tomorrow morning but that shouldn't make a difference as their is no sensor on that. I also didn't check for codes as it was getting late when I finished.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
