Default QUESTIONS ON SWAPING SUSPENSION

Ok, I have a 92 CX and a 92 Si.

The Si has Sprint springs and Tokico N/A shocks. I am wanting to swap them over to my CX and put the factory springs and shocks back on the Si. Is it possible to remove both springs and shocks in one "unit," w/out having to de-compress the spring? I am not THAT mechanically inclined so I need it as easy as possible.

I did notice that in the rear, the shock is only bolted in one spot on the lower control arm. If I were to remove both bolts up by the strut tower, IN THE REAR, would this allow the spring and shock to be removed in one "unit?"

Like I said, I am not mechanically inclined so I want this done the easiest way possible. I WOULD have help w/ me who knows more about this than I do. I just want to be able to tell them what to do.

And for you who wonder why I am taking them off my Si...read my sig.

Thanks!

Jake

Yes, they will come off in one piece. No problem. The front will be harder though cuz you have the driveshaft in the way.

No I will not part it out. I would love to but pops does not want this place to look like a junk yard. I plan on selling it as a whole. And as you can see, Wrath of VTEC is my potential buyer. Its a plus that he is local also. It was in a front-end collision, taking out the drivers side front. The A/C is pretty much the only thing that is gone. IF there is frame damage, it is VERY minimal, as in just the piece that sticks out further than the bumper support ( 3 inches ). The suspension and drive train were untouched, thank god. I am still driving it to this day, minus a hood, bumper, and a left front fender. So you think I get a lot of looks?

you can definitely pull the shocks out with the hats on them as one piece ready to swap.

the rears may need to have the lower arm dropped to be able to lift out the units.
so, unbolt one LCA end bolt (inboard is usually easier) and drop that lower arm to allow the shock end to get off the arm.

the front can be pulle dout easily, just remove both bolts completely from the strut fork.
the upper one has to be removed completely as the strut has a notch the bolt sits in.
dont ask me how I know......
