carbon fiber hood with a dimple?
I need some advice as on how to cover this up.. i just recently bought a CF hood for my car that will be installed shortly (waiting for the last few parts to arrive) but here is a problem it has a 1 dimple in the front where the emblem goes.. its rather deep and cant be taken out.. i was thinking about having the good clear coated in order to fix this even though it doesnt need to be since it already has clear on it and this hood is absolutely perfect all around besides that dimple. I was thinking about puting a sticker around that area to cover it up.. any ideas as to what it should say? i was thinking of a plain black "advan" sticker so that it can be hardly seen.. i want something that has a dark color and that will somewhat blend in with that hood.. any ideas? give me some opinions.. thanks everyone..
Is the dimple in the clearcoat or in the weave itself? If it's the clearcoat, then just take it to a paint job and have 'em carefully fill it to the flat level. Otherwise, I would just leave as is... no carbon fiber hood is 100% perfect (Spoon cf products is applicable to this statement).
That dimple is probably because when the hoods are shipped and/or stored, the latch of the hood in front of it was resting there. Leave the hood alone for a couple of months, and the dimple should get better if not go away altogether. For now to cover it up you can use the decal idea.
