I'm thinking about getting my windows tinted. Please post pic of your car w/ tinted window and % of tint(especially in Yellow). Thank in advance.

BTW, some reason I don't see many Rs with tinted window... any reason behind it?

 

Here are a few over the years...
Windsheild- 5% aprox 7-8 inches down
Front- 20%
Rear- 5%
I'll try to give you different lighting, place and distance to give you the best idea.

there is one bad thing about dark tinted windows, Its hard to see the nice interior... even in daylight.

you use to live in Florida?

 

another bad thing about darker tints, makes it harder for th33v3s to see in your car at night so they are more likely to break your window to see if there is anything worth stealing. if you dont have tint, and there is nothing inside to steal, then you wont end up with a broken window. just my 2 cents.

 

A thief would have to be pretty f'n dumb to break a cars window just so he can see whats inside. Breaking a cars window is probably a last resort for most thieves

 

believe it or not people still do break into cars around here just to steal radios, speakers, amps, radar detectors or whatever else they can find. and most thieves arent the brightest crayons in the box so their stupidity wouldnt surprise me in the least.

Out of all the rims, i think those mugens are the best looking for the R.

thanks for the nice compliments, to tell ya the truth its not that hard to see when in the city but when I leave the city it gets harder to back up- but not that much

 

Do the cops in NY ever give you a hard time with the windows that dark? I've had cops here check mine a couple of times, and mine isn't dark at all - 35%.

Hey guys.... what is the ideal % of tinted window on the R(front side, back side and, rear)? A pic would be more appreciated.

tinting is an 80's thing. Less trouble better since thieves thinks u are hiding something.

well maybe you have something to hide.

i want to tint my windows cuz my window got smashed so easily and was all over
my car and they stole my homegirls purse not to mention my 1500 sound system.

Once I got a ticket for tinted windows but it was after having a agument with a cop,,, he just had to write a ticket to get revenge, and the sad part was I beat the ticket in court!
Joke on him!
Other wise I never had a problem with tinted windows and cops in the past 15 years.

actually I know a lotta ex car theives that skipped tinted windowed cars cus they werne;t sure of what could be inside and would avoid the risk. But there's also a few that have said a car with tint almost always has something inside so thus they break into it.

I have 25% in the rear and 35 in the front.. desert smoke by sun guard.. I really like it. I'll try to post a pic
