Default Help with timing on DOHC zc........

well again im havin trouble with gettin my timing right........... i thought i had the cam gears perfectly lined up but when i start it it idles rough and when i hit the gas it stalls out.......... it doesnt backfire or anything like that.......

does it sound like i have the timing 180 degrees off?? this is such a PITA! and i dont have the tool to hold the cam gears in place once they are lined up so 2 ppl is a necessity.......... it cant be off by much if it idles half way decent......... maybe im 1 tooth off on each gear.......... i will recheck in the A.M. but any input would be great.......... thanx guys

Use the mark on the CRANK pulley to find TDC of the Bottom end..

There is a set of three marks, and other thats alone..
The three marks is for timing with a light, and the lonlye one is TDC

refer to the helms page above... the srewdriver method your just guessing

awesome........... thanx for the help.......

i ended up finally getting it.......... but just to be sure, how tight should the timing belt be?? should it make a slight humming sound?? im able to get it tight by sliding a small bar through the belt onto the tensioner and pulling up gently, it pulls all of the slack out of it......... i just want to be sure since its making a louder humming noise then it usually did......... thanx for the help!
