"HONDA CHALLENGE" Entry questions!!!
Hey whats up all yall in HC Land. I hope I've come to the right place for answers on a new ride I've obtained for a HC car.
The chasis is a '95 GSR, and a '98Spec. R Motor. Which class would the car be qualified to enter???
How many points do I need minimum for a roll bar set-up and which cage would I also need???
Would I be able to replace the factory Front End with the JDM Conversion and still enter the Honda Challenge?????

Rulebook
That's always the first place to look.
- H1
- 6
- yes
You might want to wait for the 2004 rules to be released to start building.

Unless you have a money tree I would advise against that.

You might want to rethink you're plan man. You've got a relatively expensive tub, with a very expensive engine in it which bumps you into H1. In that class you may be racing against CRX's with K-series engines in them... less weight, more power, and probably less cost. You do the math. Probably your best bet would be to build a H5 or H4 civic hatch or CRX and maybe put your R motor in it if you want to play in H1. If you really want to race that tub, get rid of the R engine and put a regular GSR engine in it so you can stay in H3 where you'll at least have a competitive set-up.
'04 rules are being worked on. Hopefully, they will be released in Oct. Go to the http://www.hondachallenge.com site. Click on West. You should also check out the NASA CCR @ http://www.nasaproracing.com. The rules are available online.
Try to get in contact with Ryan F. He is the admin for SoCal HC. You can also email me if you want. I am the NorCal guy.
Not so sure if the combo you have won't be competitive. Lepper (H1 ITR) & Vanni (H1 Civic coupe w/B16) took were both on the podium @ the last crossover (NorCal/SoCal) race. Andy Hope with a H1 CRX took first. My suggestion is to talk to those who you will be competing against eg those in your region.
