Default exhaust question 2.5 vs 2.25

Is thier really a huge difference in power between the 2 sizes? I have a eg\itr hybrid, I just got a Toda header and am looking for a CAT. As far as the rest of the exhaust I was wondering if it would be stupid to go with a 2.25 off the shelf system vs going through the trouble of putting together a custom 2.5" mandrel bent system.

make your own exhaust with 2.5", get the resonator and any style muff you want. I like the ES oval muff personally.

2.5 maybe a little more power over 2.25, but definatly louder!!!! I have 2.25 on my LS and my buddy has 2.5 on his GSR and his car is a lot louder than mine. Both running Tanabe racing medalian mufflers. Good Luck w/ ur decision.

Oh yea these are civic swaps No Resinators!

go to chino valley muffler.
ask underrated99si ...
similar to smsp..custom 2.5 with resonator(s?)
heard it was pretty quiet considering.
if you were going 2.25 i would just go with the itr axle back..
it's 2.25 and it's stock looking..wont' get pulled over..and it's the most quiet

You'll be choking the engine big time if you go from 2.5" to 2.25". The diameter should get bigger the farther from the engine, not smaller. Do yourself a favor and get the 2.5" custom exhaust.
