Default So..oem foglights are illegal?

Well, not exactly. I was pulled over yesterday for having an illegal "neon" on the front of my car...she was actually referring to the foglights. Thing is, they are just normal h3 bulbs in the oem housing and everything (4th gen). The only difference is that the lenses are coated with this blueish material. Looks kick ***, but i guess its not cool by johnny law.

Question is.. anyone have a pair of AMBER lenses for sale??

other question is.. what year civic had the fog light lenses that fit the 4th gen oem setup??

help would be much appreciated folks.

Here's a pic White balance makes it look a little more blue than it is.

something i dont understand is why is blue or green illegal?? i understand why neon of any color is illegal. because it messes with your depth preception. is it the same with say the color on the fogs above??

well, I personally think those look awesome....if you wanna sell those blue lenses, let me know! My set's missing one!

Also, not sure about where you live, but all the cops around here think that blue lights are illegal. It ticks them off when they get told by some kid that the state law says they have to be flashing or rotating to be illegal.

Check the laws in your state/county before trying to replace them.

its illegal because people might think your a cop. its illegal to have any blue, red, or white turn signals on the front end. and its illegal to have any color turn signal besides red or orange on the rear end.

once again, it all depends on your state's laws.

Those are not illegal in GA, according to the law.

blue light is a big big no no on cars unless your a 5-0....you can have pretty much anything cept for blue green red...get a yellow insert or something or just go straight white light and youd be ok..its just that blue symbolizes the 5-0 and they like there colors to themselves

sweet! they honestly dont look that blue in real life..more greenish/white but like i said the whitebalance of my camera smessed with them in the pic. i am aware that actual blue lights on a car are illegal, and i really wasnt asking if they were or not. i really would like answers to my original questions:
anyone have amber lenses? (id be more than happy to sell my blue ones)
anyone know of civic fog lens fitment?

to answer ludeykrus, id be more than happy to sell you mine. (once i get new ones)

i wish i could get the coatings off but its pretty much cemented on, i tried it when i got them.

for the people posting stuff about california laws, in the front the lights can be white or amber turn signals, fog lights can be any color as long as they are not red/blue, only cops can have blue, ambul/fire truck cant even have blue, as for tail lights, brakes have to be red(duh) and turn signals can be red/amber, so clear corners/clear lights ARE legal in california, oh and by the way, it is legal to have blue/red lights AS LONG AS THEY DONT FACE FORWARD, so a blue scanner facing backwards is legal
