I'm lowering my friend's car right now and I took off all the bolts and everything right now. The helm manual says to lower the rear suspension and remove the damper. I cant get the damper out. What exactly do they mean by lower the rear suspension? And how?

 

Ok i got the damper off but now I can't get the self locking nut off at the top. When I turn the nut the top of the shock turns with it making it impossible to get off w/ manual tools.

 

I would suggest remounting the shock and then taking the nut off.
