Resleeving YOUR block. Who have YOU used before?
Ok it's about time to get moving with this build up and this is going to be the first place to start. I've been researching sleeving in the Forced Induction forum for quite some time now since that is where it is most talked about, however I won't be going FI. I want to know what you guys are using. Most of the FI guys like to stay stock-82 or so bore for added strength. I'll bu running an 85mm bore 12.1:1 compression piston.
I'd like to know what YOU are using for MFG of sleeves, Bore size, Compression, what block, how long and how many miles and what kind of revs the block sees. Right now I am looking at GEM as of current, just don't want to pass up Benson, AEBS, RS Machines (Yes I know they have top N/A cars), Dart, etc...
Please personal expierience only. Even I will admit that from a friends perspective you never really know the "whole" story.

I'm a GEM fan too. I had GE sleeve my GSR block to 85mm and went with JE pistons. That's my block in my avatar. Static compression comes out to right around 12.2ish. I know GE just raised their prices $100, but I still think they're a good deal. The work they did on my block was beautiful.
im running RS machines , block b18c 85mm JE pistons 12.3 CR with head 12.5CR .
i have had this set up already for over 7 months , revs up too 9500rpms with no problems .
current set up is Toda cams spec D , valvesprings , cam gears , Ti retainers . itr head p n p by alaniz ( on the works
) and Ericks racing header (for auto cross im going to be running Toda 4-2-1 header
)

I have a GE sleeved b18c5 block as well. 85mm 11.5:1 pistons. Not many miles on it, most RPM it has seen is 8500. I was happy with them, and the motor runs great.

I have built 3 gem blocks that sunk sleeves. I have never seen RS sleeves sink period. RS gets my vote.
84mm Benson B18C1 block, 12:1 JE pistons, 9,500 daily, 10k from time to time. About 10,000 miles on the motor.
Project motor is 85 GE B18C1 block, 13.5+:1 IB Spec Wiseco pistons, will see 10k every time it hits the track. Can't wait to see what it will do.

A step deck is where the sleeves stick up 3 thousands above the deck of the block, its to put more preasure on the head gasket once its torqued down, it helps in preventing blown head gaskets.
Yes I have a RS Block, talk to rich hes a good guy.

i have a friend with a gsr block sleeved by golden eagle , sleeve sank after about ......lets jus say less than 1k miles . we sent out 4 blocks to get sleeved . 3 of them sank . mine is the 4th , i have yet to use it and im wondering if i should even bother
forgive my noobness but what happens when a sleeve sinks and why does it seem to be so common? It sounds like a sleeve falling about the bottom of the block, but how could that happen? Not being pressed in properly?
It's kinda sad that GE won't admit that there sleeves have sunk. Every sleever has there day, but most will be honest and admit that it could or has happened. As long as they are willing to fix the problem then who cares if they have had a sleeve drop. **** happens.
