anyone ever boosted 94 SI?
I don't work much with boosted cars, auto-x is my passion. But, a guy I work with bought a 94 SI and want's a quick spooling 6-8 pound setup. Unfortunatly, he does'nt know anything beyond fast and the furious.
I'm trying to make something mildly reliable for him cause it's his way to school and back but I'm not trying to go over the whole motor. I'm gonna replace the pistons and rod bolts maybe bearings. Should I do rods too or are they not very problematic? I'm leaving the head alone.
Is there a weak spot to watch for on the car?
Or maybe a link with info?

Thats a great link...but i dont think that is wut he's looking for...we know that we CAN boost, but i think he's looking for a more simple setup that will NOT break the bank...I wish i could help, but i am still hesistant to boost on my H23 simply because i dont have the money and cant afford any downtime. Although, i have heard that one thing to keep in mind is that 4G ludes have cooling problems, i.e. FMIC blocking radiator.
you can do 8lbs easy on a H23 without chaning any internals. Make sure your getting enough high octane fuel and tuning makes all the difference in the world.
A cheap and quick-spooling buildup is using DSM parts from their turbo cars.....which I just happen to have a spare turbo manifold sittin here for sale! and I could prob. get the turbo, too, if you wanted; check the for-sale thread.
