Default any Tips on my cam tunning to delete overlap.

High Boosted application over 500whp, gsr cams skunk cam gears.
I am racing this weekend and I am hoping to beat my best time of 10.59 and break the 9's. I am going to the dyno I want to dial out over lap, add 100 shot (anti lag)Nitrou. and add some wheeleze on my wheelie bars. I am also gonna play with the boost and raise the Revs by 500 to 9500.

Any help on dialing out cam timing overlap.

wtf u have 500whp and you don't know how to tune cam gears? just increase your lobe separation to reduce overlap. that means advance the exhaust and retard the intake.

Thanks poorguy we do know how to dial out over lap we just never tuned cams before and asked for some tips. BTW Its easy to make with 500whp without touching the cams.

Make a base line pass at 0-0. Make second pass with 1 degree advance on the exh and one degree retard on the intake and see what happens. The main problem is trying to get 2 equal passes on the car to see what is happening. If that works, try another degree each.
The real question is did you degree in the cams to make sure the first pass is to Skunk's specs? If not, then results may not be repeatable at a later date.

I wouldn't go dyno and right away start dialing out the overlap just yet. I would actually go and ratrd the intake cam first 2 degrees advance or retard if it makes power then two more degrees if not back to that, then go the opposite way if you retarded there then try advancing it, all set ups are different and overlap being dialed out doesn't always make the most gains from personal experience we have increased the overlap on stock Si cams and made more power just fyi. Also I said start with the intake cam first and mess with the timing there then go to the exhaust because sometimes increasing the overlap if you do that makes it harder to idle which then sometimes makes it hareder to set timing imo. Let us know how it turns out get that 600whp that T70 is capable of!

2 degrees at a time is what we have always done, then you can back out one degree etc.

Fix your signature and let's see some 9's..good job. Tough to think about a 2 degree cam change when making big power on the dyno. So many other things going on.
