Im painting my car, should i paint my lips and sideskirts or not?its a 92 cx with replica mugen and replica CTR with stock sides....i wanted to leave them black because i know i will scrape it because of potholes and i dont want to Repaint it everytime i scrape it...

that is true but, its the fact that there are Pot holes around here and when i lower my car it will probably scrape on stuff cuasing paint to come off and it will look really bad, but i have till monday to decide

I had my front mugen lip painted and scraped a lot. Looks crappy. I say leave it black. Non ex pride yo!

thats what i mean.. only the lower models come with black plastic outside.. handles, moldings, etc..

not really.. just looks cleaner.. doesnt make it look like a body kit.. notice, civic Si's come with a painted lip and sides.. so do ITR's ..

 

 

I say no and keep it black just like the old saying "once you go black, you'll never go back"

serioulsy though, that's the reason why I left my front lip black, I was tired of the looking at the scraps marks and small graval chip marks on the painted lip.

 

I left mine black, I think white would of throw in off.....

 

I think it looks good.

 

I left mine black I think it looks nicer. Especially with my color.

my thoughts exactly...and if really that concerned with potholes and what not, dont drive around ridiculously slammed like a bagged truck and all should be well.

It can look ok sometimes, but that's it. If you want it to look as good as possible, paint match.

Black plastic implies "Hyundai", "DX", "1986 Cavalier"; however you wanna look at it.

Only if it's done badly, or if you paint things that aren't supposed to be painted like front bumper vents, etc.

big potholes and speedbumps in school parking lot and on the way to school. also my school has huge sewer/manhole covers that dip in Too much

 

I love not having a painted lip... it's less of a hassle.

 

Even the Si model, (the "highest" model) had the lip, and sidemouldings un-painted.

Black lips are where its at. On some cars it looks good and some cars it should be painted I think it looks better black on my car.
