First take off the belt and set the crank at TDC ( top dead center ) there will be 4 marks on the inside of the crank pulley they will look like this III I line the single line up with the arrow type thing on the timing belt cover, then turn the cam till where it says "up" is top most and the lines on the cam gear are parallel with the head put the belt on and you should be good to go.
Thanks for your help, but I have this book for my car and it says to turn the crank until the 1st piston is up ann the way, then there is a dot or something on the cam and put that at the top, then it should be in time....
Any clue if thats right?

You have to put the crank at TDC, Top Dead Center. Then look at your cam gear and it should say UP with the two lines on the side lining up to the head.
Check http://www.c-speedracing.com on how to do this.

Thanks for your help, but I got it all back together and Now it smokes when I get it running. It has a poor idle, and it doesnt sound very good. It kind of feels like its strugling to run. It took al while to get it to run too. At first it wouldnt hold an idle, but now it does barely. I think the timing is just barely off, but I dont know; what I can do to get it perfect????????
