Anybody have experience with these?
I've been scouting harnesses for autoX purposes recently, and came across this company: http://www.crowenterprizes.com.
I'm looking into something along these lines:
The prices seem reasonable. Just wondering if anybody has had any experience with the quality of their products?

Some sanctioning bodies don't like Y style shoulder harnesses but they may be OK in classes where racing belts are not requires but just optional. Most racing groups prefer individual shoulder harnesses. If that is an option at a few extra bucks, it might be worth it.
I recently did a bunch of research into harness belts for autox use and ended up going with the Schroth Rallye 4pt. Best belt out there for the price in my opinion.

Won't be used on the streets, i have no need, nor the proper equipment to use them there.

Crow is the supplier to Petty among others. Personal choice is either Simpson or M&R. The design you are showing will work for the use you have in mind, but separate harnesses would be better.

Soo true, without a bar harnesses are dangerous. Think if you rolled over and your roof collapsed. normally your body could turn sideways and fold up. saveing your life. With a harness your body stays up and the roof folds in and crushes you. To run a harness you need a roll bar. But there is your seccond problem. ON the street a ar in dangerous becasue you can suddenly hit your head on the bar cracking it open. on the track you have a helmet = no head injury. So the only way to run harnesses on a street car safely is to wear a helmet LOL

These belts are very popular with the off-road desert racers out here on the west coast. Alot of the privateers run 'em. I say if they can handle that, they should hold up to most any other type of driving. I'll probably get a set when my EVO2 comes in.

SCCA< NASA, NASCAR and probably some others require separate shoulder harnesses. I will agree with others about using them without a rollbar and helmet. The reason for the separates is strength of the materials and you have 2 distinct mounting locations to take up the loads. THis is even true with the rollbar crossbrace.
