DX header Vs Si header
is there any difference between the 88-91 Dx header (D15b2) vs the 88-91 Si header (D16a6)? Will an a6 aftermarket header work on a b2? I assume it will bolt right on, but the attachment to the exhaust look sa bit different.
shouldnt be any difference from the factory, only if an exhaust shop had modified it would it not work. the head casting numbers are the same, everything bolts up.
D to D works, i would say the only posible difference is the length...you might want to check that out........but why would you swap stock header for stock header?
I think there is a difference between the pipes that go from the exhaust manifold to the cat. But otherwise I had an stock Si exahust manifold right next to a stock DX manifold and they were identical.
I just bought a 91 Dx hatch and the header goes into a funky jog pipe that goes into a converter. I didn't think the jog pipe was oem, but it is a oem looking piece actually.
I was going to throw a DC 4-2-1 on the Dx motor (that I had on my Si) just for the heck of it, and I was hoping everything was similar.

It's DPFI, so you won't notice hardly any difference whatsoever, as i'm sure a lot of other people on h-t, as well as other people will tell you. It's a waste of money. You could do a MPFI conversion on it, but that is a waste of money too IMO.

I have 90% of the parts to do the mpfi conversion, so that's the plan. And I have the header in my basement, so I might as well. It's just a winter beater so I want to keep the upgrades cheap and try to make the car a little more fun.

I was once in your shoes; I waited almost 4 years after I got my car before I even did anything to it, then I saved up and got a b16 swap and did it myself...cheers to working with what you have.
