Default SI Tranny Code number?

My friend is trying to get a newer si tranny for his 90 rex si, we have a dohc zc to swap in, but his tranny has 266k on it and the clutch fork is bent....so we are trying to comb through the junkyards....Import Auto Salvage doesnt have anything, big suprise, and we need the right info since some dude tried to sell us a dx tranny today.

Should be an L3. The fork may still be available from HOnda along with a new Throwout bearing

yeah it should say PL3/3000... but i've had one that said PL3/9000.

live and learn - i bought a PL3/3000 that turned out to be a DX - i have had 2 88 Si's that were PL3/A000 and currently have the remains of a PL3/9000 Si, 2 PL3/3000 ZC's and a PL3/A000 4-speed - i wouldn't trust these numbers to be anything more than casting numbers for the back half of the case and probably have to do with bearing sizes - only way to know for sure is to check it out by either counting the teeth or turning it over and count the input shaft revolutions

how many miles on it? is it from an si zc or dx?
