Why would you want to do that? I believe you will have to modify the rails to make it fit.

What about eg seats in a 89 civic dx or 90-91 civic/crx seats in a 89 civic.

Personally, I wouldn't feel safe driving around sitting on a seat that is 75% bolted in, at best. This isn't even considered that you have to "modify" one of the rear bolt holes.

Also, from experience, 89 CRX seats would not fit into an 88 without major modification.

hmmmmm......don't think so...

in my 90 crx hf, i tried putting in seats from a 95 civic ex cpe....didn't happen, let me explain..

at first i tried just putting the seat in and seeing where the holes lined up. only the front holes matched up, and the back 2 were way off, one was way to long, and the other one, was off width wise... ok, i said, i'll just swap rails...put the crx rails on the 92-95 seat...one hour later = not gonna work either...

to save you some time, b/c i know it was a waste of time for me...lay both seats down in the driveway or whatever.. 1 eg seat and 1 crx seat...look at the rails and brackets closely for a few minutes...you will see what i mean...the crx rails(the sliders) bolt directly to the bottom of the seat...simply..the way it should be...
the eg seats, the rails/sliders bolt to brackets, that bolt to the seats, its kinda hard to explain in words, but if you start taking all this **** apart you will see what i'm saying....in the end i tried every combination of this rail here, that bracket like this, everything, and the best i came up with was only 2 bolts being able to bolt down, which i didn't like..i also tried just putting the crx rails on the eg seat just how they're attached to the crx seat, just screwed in from the bottom...and that didn't work, there 2 different seats, needless to say i was pissed, but ohh well, just wait and get some Recaros.

Actually, 89 seats are even different from 88.
