Default New 2004 TL

Anyone seen the new 2004 TL? What is everyone's opinion on it? Does the front end look like the TSX? I personally like it...and a 6 Speed MT is an option. I will post some pics of the new TL soon.

it looks great and from the many articles i've read...seems to be a great luxury sport sedan. still, its let down by fwd. but, i am having trouble understanding why they made it a little smaller when the TSX fills that smaller mid-size segment(which won the under $30k comparison in automobile mag). the last TL was great and had a huge trunk. we had a 1999 3.2TL and it did very nicely, had a little bit of a soft ride but very roomy and quick. i think they should have kept the same dimensions. but, its got some serious handling and power to it now. and it looks great. acura cars, save the integra, is finally coming into its own.

It's all good....I hear that the new TL is gonna be a serious machine as well....it should be out for sale in a couple weeks. I will be sure to test drive it with the 6 speed manual tranny!

that would be the concept version. the factory version uses wipers, 17's on the standard model with the A-spec package but does have bluetooth and a dvd stereo/nav system. it is slightly smaller than the outgoing model. all the latest car mags have articles of the new TL.

the A-spec is a manual transmission, limited-slip diff, suspension tuning and maybe different wheels.
i think it is a very sharp looking car with some nice design characteristics. i liked my parents 2000 TL, but it was a bit boring of a design. it still looks good though. but, the new TL is very good looking and quite a sporty sedan.

I read somewhere that theres supposted to be an "A-Spec" TL too.
Lowered suspension, bigger rims, body kit, A-Spec badging.
Supposted to come out later this month or early next month.

no kit, same size wheels, no badging, tuned but not lowered suspension. i'm sure there will be some acura optional equipment for a kit and wheels like the previous TL had.

Take an Accord/TSX Front end..... put a Civic-like backend..... stretch the middle add luxury, slap an on it and you have your TL. Nice. Great looking car but I'm not into luxury sport sedans.

Uhh? Good to know you don't work at engineering/designing the TL..

has anyone gotten a chance to hit the dealership and see the accessory list? apparently the optional accessory list is quite extensive and has quite a bit of goodies. if anyone gets a chance to go to the dealer, please take some photos and post!

I went to the dealer yesterday and saw a bunch of them. It looks a lot better in person. I think Honda has been listening to their customer, they got rip of all the ugly chrome trim (grill, license plate.... etc) and replace it with metallic trim. The quality of the car also feels a lot better than the previous TL. I was telling the saleman, "you are going to have a hard time selling the RL"

when you say better feel of the last TL, what do you mean? I think many 3.2TL owners will be moving to the new gen TL, but I was wondering what you mean by better feel.
My mom recently traded her TL for a TSX actually.

better feel, the chassis is much better than the previous TL. it may be hard to believe, but its true. its more sporty, while the last gen was more of a relaxed cruiser.

the RL never did sell well. its a fwd v6 large luxury car in the field of rwd or awd and v8's. it doesn't have the clout of its competitors. the next one should.

I'm not sure why everyone keeps saying it's "smaller". It's a little shorter, but the car is wider and taller than the previous model and offers more interior room. It's really not smaller.

And fwiw I went and saw the new 04's in person. Very impressive car. Very muscular compared to the old TL's. Lots of style, more european looking IMO. Well worth the 33K sticker price. They're gonna sell a ton of these!
