I actualy know that you can’t mix the b and d series parts.But since the valve covers look so similar i have to ask,is it possible to put a ZC head on an b18a or b18b block?

No the zc head and the zc block only mate to each other

This is only true when it comes to the DOHC ZC. With the SOHC ZC you can use the SOHC ZC head on the D-series (a6,z6,and y8) you can also use any of those heads on the ZC block.

 

can you mount a dohc zc head onto a d16a1 block since they are so similar? zc has bigger cams, so this would be cool

why you throwin hammers like a mad man it's a legit question, maybe not b series and d series, but why wont a zc head fit on a d16a1?

 

There is a shop that can modify the LS parts (valvetrain stuff) to fit the DOHC ZC stuff. Do a search and see if you can pull something up.

Does the water pump,oil pump and other stuff fit from the ZC block to an LS block?

 

any dohc zc head will fit on a d16a1 the seciound gen zc head will requiri adj cam geras ther is a timming difference


the dohc head will also fit with some mods to an EW block

and do you have a d16a1 in you 2nd gen or is it a 1G

 

You can put the LS valve trian in the ZC head. That's about it.
