Helping a friend any thoughts? (car wont start has spark and pump primes)
94 Prelude H23a 5 speed situation: He was driving the car and it started acting funny so he depressed the clutch. As soon as he did this it dropped revs and stalled out. The car will not restart and is throwing a code 43 (fuel supply error). I can her the fuel pump prime when turned over to position two and the plugs are getting spark. However the car will not turn over and start and it sounds louder than usual when turning over. I believe its a spun rod bearing however I am going to trouble shoot the code 43 before I leave it at that. Just wanting to see if any one knows for sure off the bat if its a spun rod bearing since these motors are known for doing this. I checked the oil and it was pretty low (about half way up from the second dot on the dip stick). So that is why I am leaning more and more toward a spun rod bearing with out having to do too much more work for free. Its a friend of a friend deal which I don't mind helping its just that I have enough going on right now on my own.
Thanks in advance for any help and or insights, I will be taking my helms and tools and trouble shooting more this weekend.

check his fuel pressure. check the voltage on the main wiring harness. check the main resistor box for the injector circuit. check all fuses. yada yada yada.
what makes you thing he spun a rod bearing? can you hear a knocking sound? does it sound like a can of nuts and bolts yet?
give me a call if you run into problems.

The thing wont even start and its loud as hell turning over. Not to mention the low oil and this motor being known for sping rod bearing all day and night. I have no clue on the history of the car and he jsut bought it a couple of weeks ago. Plan is oil, then CEL fix. If that doesnt do it he can take it to honda and pay them or pay me. Either way doesnt matter its a firend of a friend so I am not going to bend over backward to help this guy.
what do you mean by loud as hell? the starter or the actual motor? if you hear any type of metalic sound. don't even bother starting it. call it a rod bearing/main bearing and take it apart. check the oil pump. that is the main thing.
