i know all the vet autoxers found the course rather short (for nyr) and pritty simple. we did that (ease of course) because we antisipated about 50% more cars than we got. since it was subaru day we figured we would have alot of novice at the event and didnt want to build a course that would have the novices confused as to where the course went and then never come back.

wont be beat-it looked like your new set-up was working pritty well. how did u like it?

Oh, you wanted to know something about the event itself? Well, it was wet (which is quite obvious.)
I pretty much agree with Spencer, it looked to be a relativley short and simple course for NYR but, I kinda figured that when I heard there might be something like 240 Subaru's showing. I guess I-club melts in the wet?
The course was a challenge in the car I drove (POS almost stock 89 Rustang) thank God there weren't too many tight slaloms, I woulda spun for sure. The weather was a challenge to drive the car in, Heck that damn Rustang was a serious challenge to drive. Moving that last loose slalom before the finish was a good idea and something that we noticed to be the only issue, (likely because we worked station 4 and witnessed the MR2 blasting the timer.) We thought it was totally over right then.
This is the first car I have autocrossed that actually fought Every input I added and needed to be beaten into submission to perform anything. But, I was happy that my times (even though I was 3rd in class) were better than many other cars that were way better suited for the circumstances and alot newer.
I still feel (and I am relatively vocal about it amongst my friends) that NYR autocrosses are among the best in the area organization, challange and skill wise. As of this season I have only had time to do NYR and PSCC but, they are both my favorite so what you are doing is great and keep it up.
Next time I want Spencer to drive that damned Mustang I drove, and I'll co drive Rodney's Civic (hear that Chris? Pretty Please???)

</TD></TR></TABLE> Most of the auto-x Subarus were in Virginia on Saturday for the 'Subaru Only' Subaru Challenge, as set up by SOA.
Calling this a 'Subaru Challenge' was, no offense, a bad marketing mistake by someone who doesn't have their ear to the ground of the Subaru Enthusiast community.... If they did, they would have known about the 'Subaru Challenge' schedule ( http://www.subaruchallenge.com ) and would have known what the concept of the real 'Subaru Challenge' is.
So don't blame Subarus for not showing, blame the organizers for scheduling it the same weekend as the event in VA. Also, it was the same weekend as a Rally-X in VT... some rally-xers are auto-xers too.
It was just a busy weekend.

yea, there were a bunch of factors that landed our subaru day date the same weekend as subaru challange. there were a few people from subaru challange at our event (the team iac group) and we had a good 40 wrx prereg'd. so it realy was the weather that held the numbers down.

Yeah, I saw 24 made it... that's still not too bad!
Location probably kept some people away too.... then add the rain... yeah.
Just check out Subaru Challenge for next year in addition to the National Solo-II and ProSolo schedules and I'd try and make it next year.
