Default Car Sputtering

I was on my way into town today, and I hit fourth gear and my car started to sputter a bit, and as I hit fifth, it sounded like a motorcycle. I got into a parking lot and turned the car off. I turned it back on and reved it, and the car sputtered and then at around 3500k, it reved up fine. I went back on the road again, and took off. As I took off, the car sputtered, but as I gave it full throttle, it acted normal. As I hit second gear, it sputtered again, and did the same for every other gear. I was told my fuel filter is clogged, and I was also told it may be a vacum leak. I was wondering if anyone knows what is causing this sputtering? Thanks.

When was the last time you got gas? That happened to me in my Mazda B2200 and i had gotten some bad gas, but also my fuel filter was clogged too.

I got gas yesterday, about 8 gallons, and it is still around half full. Hopefully it is my fuel filter, so it'll be a cheap fix.

I used to have a metro that did that too, and i changed everything, because it wasn't getting any power. First I changed the filter, then i changed the plugs, then i changed the distributor, and i drained the tank. Somewhere down the line it fixed it, because my geo went 0 to 60 in 2 min instead of 5 minutes.

may want to check the spark plugs, once the car had been driving fine, I stopeed at a light, when it turned green I stepped on the gas and it started to do the same thing. I stopped a the 7 eleven down the street, one of the plugs came out and was just sitting in the hole not screwed in.
May not be your problem but it does not hurt to check.
