2003 Civic SI need some advice!?!?
Hello, I buying the new 2003 si for a kick *** price, brand new. But I drove that car and man its quick but not for my liking. anyone knows some mods I can do to it. Other then intake, exhaust and headers, I would really like to put 220 hp, NA of course.
If you get a good deal on the Si, and sell the Si's engine for a decent price, you can probably get the RSX Type S engine in there and still come out paying less than the price of a new RSX-S, with money left over for wheels and tires, which you will need.
From there its a matter of hondata and boltons to get you zooming at 220 hp.

I would guess around 1500 to 2000 for the Si motor and tranny, and the RSX-S motor-tranny would cost 4000-4500 range, but getting the best deals means working/looking/waiting for them.
Labor costs are up to your willingness to DIY it, or pay to have it done. I should have mentioned that, and it could be the biggest deciding factor. From what I've seen and read, the engine swap is no harder than with a D-series to B-series swap in older civics.

why dont you get the car since you can get a quote "killer deal" start putting the miles on the engine to break it in better. and then start adding your bolt ons. and you can get cams for the car later on, get hondata and you might be happy there.
the k-series engines are still very new, just be a bit paitent and their will be tons of stuff for this engine.
i serioulsy think its a big waste of time and money swaping a engine in a car that has probably less then a 100 miles if you are buying it brand new. even used, what a couple thousand.

I say to buy the car and then, like the previous poster mentioned, just wait until the market comes out with more parts for the car. These engines have loads more potential, in my opinion obviously, than the B-Series. Just give the market some time to catch up.

the best thing to really do .. to make good power for the least amount of money is turbo...its has a good platform.. starting of with a 2 liter which means it can spool up the turbo a bit quicker persay vs the 1.8 on the same 18g turbo.. and also you have lower compression to begin with.. i mean just imagin.. 230 to 240 to the ground would be nice wouldnt it.. and get the extra shivering blow off that you can give to your slow moving cars LOl

Nitrous makes good power for the least amount of money. 5 bills and spray a 75 shot. Cheapest way to go.
