11.5 compression system requirments for an h23...
I'm thinking of going with jdm h22 pistons in my h23 with stock internals. I believe the compression ends up being 11.4:1. Will an s-afc be enough to control this big jump in compression? What other fuel managment systems should I look into besides apex'ii and Hondata?
clay your pistons, because your valves are mor than likely going to hit. Other than that... shot-peen the rods while they are out and have the whole thing balanced/bluprinted.
I have 11.0:1 JE's and the head is milled to the marks so compression is ~11.5. Just need some retard to the ignition timing and an aftermarket ignition also helps the spark bridge the gap.
OK, good advice. I can get everything ballenced for about $150. Around how much would shot-peening cost?
19924ws: I asume you still have the h23. Did you have any problems without the aftermarket ignition? Do you think that closing the gap on the plugs would help spark?

Haha should show you the pic of my bud who ran type-s pistons in his H23 for something like 12.3:1 CR....he just melted off the side of one piston..it's really nice...
Oh here it is.

All melted...moral of the story: Don't run type-S pistons on an H23
