Default H23 to H22 transmission difference?

We have a '95 Prelude originally equipped with an H23 that we are swapping with an H22. Are there any differences in the transmission? My understanding is that we can use the H23 trans., but I've heard conflicting opinions on what's "right" and which one is "better". Any insight, or even opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

S (F22) M2L5 Si (H23a) M2S4 VTEC (H22a) M2F4

1. 3.307 1. 3.307 1. 3.307
2. 1.810 2. 1.857 2. 1.950
3. 1.230 3. 1.320 3. 1.360
4 0.903 4. 1.034 4. 1.071
5. 0.705 5. 0.812 5. 0.870
FD 4.062 FD 4.266 FD 4.266

here are the gear ratio, yes the h23 tranny will bolt up and work with the h22 but it is best to use an h22 tranny because with the h23 tranny shifting at redline on the h22 you will fall out of power band (vtec) which is not the best performance. but it will work.

edit: sorry the colums got all fucked

simply put:

h23 = longer gears
h22 = shorter gears

an h22a tranny on an h22a motor is faster than a h23 tranny on an h22a motor

the differences get amplified the more you modify the motor

if you are already swapping in an h22a motor, just get the trans too

I should bolt up fine
i think the only difference is the gearing
